what happen in August 2011
2nd August,
Great time & sharing with university's friends at Pappa Rich, Wisma CKE.
Updates each other on what's going in our life, as well as other people's life.
6th August,
Attended a seminar 'Navigating Through Crisis' at Metro Tabernacle, near Batu Caves.
The church's pastor taught us some Hebrew language, however- I don't remember any of them now- reason is I didn't practice, and its rare in Malaysia. But, I did enjoy the worship in Hebrew language.
Two important things to apply during crisis:
1) We must know how to read the bible and extract the truth from it, precept upon precept & understand what it says.
2) We must know how to go to God in prayer and hear what He says especially in the morning - that will give us strength for the the rest of the day.
Freedom not equal to independent.
7th August,
This is the day that I started fast & pray, together with a few of my church members.
My father and I attended Healing Rally by Roy Durman in Praise City Church - My father got healed and he accepted Christ right there after the healing took place. However, he did not stay for follow-up because rushing back for dinner. Anyway, praise God - for His miracle and power, all glory to God. All I did is just asked, then God do the rest. Amazingly a week after that my sister (who is also my room mate) accepted Christ! Same thing, I asked her, then she said, "Yes." These bring joy in my life and also to my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. However, until now- there is no follow-up after that, their life goes on as usual-I did asked whether they want to go to church, but they did not show interest. Although I bought and gave them bibles but the bibles look the same as today as the day I bought.
14th August,
Attended concert by Coliation 58 at DUMC, its awareness and action on hardcore poverty.
Reminded us the youths to care for our 'neighbours' especially the poor ones.
15th -16th August,
Shell Meeting @ Genting.
19th August,
Giving out flyers with my new colleague, Joey Lai at Wisma Shell, Cyberjaya.
We stand and give flyers at the entrance since 11.30 a.m., felt hopeless for 2 hours until we 'call for help'.
Shell has strict law, we (visitors) are not allowed to enter the area without permission, not even the cafeteria. All we need is the 'pass' - that is a card (work like the touch 'N' go card at LRT station). This pass need to be scanned at the barrier or door in order to enter the place.
The entrance, according to one of the Shell staff, its like 'hell' - no one will pass by there unless there is visitor or they come out to collect delivery, or courier documents or parcels (as what we observed). There is 'hidden' elevator inside the building - connect their work place and parking area (so they need not pass by the entrance).
The Shell staffs are more willing to spend time and allow us to explain about the promotions in the flyers when they are in cafeteria or in other places (not at the entrance, or the so call 'hell'). Really can see that their attitudes and behaviours are different when they are inside compared to outside (at entrance).
Good thing we managed to went in the building to give the flyers, thanks to Phyllisia, who brought us to the cafeteria. And thanks to Derrick Lopez and Sharon who are really glad to let us goes in to customer call centre and convenient store to give out the flyers.
We managed to finish giving all the flyers around 4.30 p.m.
The rest of the days - goes on as usual.
30th - 31st August,
Raya & Merdeka Holiday with parents and eldest sister at Cameron Highlands (mother's home town), stayed in the 'stone' house at Cactus Valley - this belongs to my uncle. Everyone is doing quite well in their own business except one who addicted in gambling.
