When I shared this to a friend, she gave the expression of, 'Why it happened at home, instead of outdoor places like hills or on the roads?' This response gave me an impression that home incident are not supposed to happen, especially to me who looks as if I am an adventurous lady who like to do outdoor activities more than indoor chores. LOL at myself.
On 24th April 2014.
It happened when I was at home after work about 7.00 p.m. or later, I was wearing a pair of wet toilet slippers and quicken my footsteps rushing into my room to get something. I was in rush for two reasons: first is to rush for a meeting at church, secondly is to rush to do body jam (as my sister was waiting). At the moment when I reached the entrance of my room, I stopped my steps and wanted to step into my room. In the midst of stopping my steps, I realized that I was slipping backward, but my body automatically responded by leaning forward. In the midst of this, my phone was ringing and I intended to step in to pick up the phone but I fell forward instead. I fell right at the entrance of my room.
I had a combination of the feelings of unpleasant, uncertain, and unexpected. I was about to blackout right after my left knee knocked on the tiled-floor while my right arm rubbed against the floor. I lost my hearing and sight at that moment, feeling fearful and had minimal cold sweats.
I do not remember when did I took my mobile phone and checked who called and as I tried to open my eyes, I am not able to do, I think I slowly crouched towards my bed and lied on my bed resting for a while.
While resting, my phone rang again, I was not able to pick up the phone as I am not able to stand up nor open my eyes, I could only hear the ringing of phone feeling helpless. Feeling the aftermath of blackout, I slowly stand up and do the necessary to return call and messages. Then, I prepared myself to bath.
I did not feel the pain on my knee until I put ice-bag on it, it was according to the first aid book, that I should put the ice-bag on my knee as it was bruising, and it helps reducing the swells. I did the same to my right arm as well. My first respond when I fell was, 'I hurt my left knee again!'
I do not remember whether did I knocked my head, and it remained mystery until now. I consulted doctor the next afternoon and asked why does blackout happened when my injuries seems not severe outwardly. The doctor simply replied by saying that, "It was too painful at that time, thus you almost blackout."
Then, I realized that yes it is true and logic that my body react in a way to make me blackout so that I will not feel the pain that was unbearable at that time. I felt relieved after consulting doctor. I received two types of creams to apply to my knee and arm and two types of painkiller.
Besides sharing what happened, I want to extend my thanks to XY who fetched my to CG on last Friday night, and MM & A who fetched me to BU on Saturday night. I felt blessed to have such brother and sisters in Christ who showed hospitality to me. :D Also want to thank my sis who fetched me to work & to clinic. Thanks to all who prayed and praying for me, I am experiencing healing. Thank God for His healing to sustain me, that Thursday night after a along rest and battling to whether attend meeting or consult doctor, as I was bathing, I worship the Lord by singing songs of praise. I never blame anyone or anything for what happened, it must be God and Holy Spirit working in me.
Thanks again for all who concerned, cared, and prayed for me.
